JPC Community Farm Noticeboard
Specialising in Care and Independent Supported Living for adults with special/complex needs, giving them their very own front door it is a very special place and close to my wife’s heart. She was a special needs teacher and had the pleasure to teach the young lad who the farm is named after. She also had the pleasure to work alongside his Dad as a he was a Governor at the school she worked at. She has watched the project grow and offered my skills to do something small to help them along.
The family have done an amazing job in getting the project up and running to support those with complex needs and a home of their own but also work in the Cafe ‘The Orangery’ to build work-life skills and boost confidence in their charges. The standard of food is tremendous and has a homely atmosphere and there are plans to expand the service if possible.
The noticeboard is for the charity and is made out of a backboard donated to me by another of the ex-staff member at the school my wife worked at. It came from the lawcourts where her father in law worked as a joiner.. It’s a lovely piece of rich oak which shows of the walnut lettering and the charity motif heart beautifully. The heart is made out of walnut with beech inlay for the tree and the path and green marquetry for the grass area.
