Rosy
Roseberry Topping is a landmark in the Cleveland hills near Teesside where I live. It was once a Roman Quarry, but Bronze age, Iron age and Vikings can all lay claim to settling around the local peak. For me, it is the place where I proposed to my wife (she said Yes), and place of good memories of many treks both day and through the night with good friends. A place to be daft and watch lightningstorms sweep across the plain andthe north sea favorite getting soaked. My Mam had a favorite postcard she had kept looking across the view from Captain Cooks to Rosy. It was a good reason to try and carve the scene, and I gave it as a present.
The piece was carved out of Sycamore and painted with Enamel paint. A more traditional carving is planned for the future
