Kestrel on the Door

At the start when I had time on my hands I would carve door plaques and try and sell them at work and on stalls for Christmas present. The wood was free as I worked in a joiners shop on a MOD site making wood cases( this isn’t a state secret). I made a goodly amount, but folk didn’t want to pay the full cost of the time it took to make them, so eventually the project died. This is the only one I know that’s left in existence and was given to my parents in law as Dad was keen on all birds. Its some 30 years old and has lasted without touch up or repair.
