Dragon Fly

I’m a keen gardener and have created a Japanese style garden over the last 3 years. One of my aims is to have a selection of carvings that can go into the garden to add interest for passers by. The Dragonfly was the first of many to be added and sits on a beech branch a the edge of the garden. He was meant to sit on top of a lily pad I was carving, but space was short and I didn’t want to overcrowd the area.

The dragonfly was carved out of the rest of the beech branch he rests on, so is may feel like home to him. He is carved out of 5 pieces of the branch and measures 18” in length. He looks out onto the Grove and has been admired by many.
