Climbing Tiger
This carving is only 8” high, but the size belies the strength of the subject. I saw a tattoo drawing and was taken at how simple it was. I had a piece of Juniper heartwood and knew that it would turn orange once it was polished. with that in mind, I set about shaping and smoothing out the tiger. Once finish the stripes are completed with pyrography and a dash of white paint has been placed around the face/eyes, paws and belly to lighten those areas. I had a small log of Laburnum which had a knot just in the right area. so now I have a Dragon( but not hidden) and a climbing tiger on my site.
